HEALING BROKEN HEARTS AND WOUNDED SOULS

When you think of the past you are full of shame, regret, anger and bitterness. You try not to think about it.

  • You confess you have forgiven them but you just can’t get the scenes out of you mind. You keep having painful flashbacks.
  • You hurt other people consciously or unconsciously and then you cry later on, or simply regret why you did it in the first place.
  • It is unbearable for you to stand the sight of those who are going through what you have been through. They are a mirror where you see your own pain.
  • You find it difficult to be compassionate to those going through the same pain you have been through. You cannot give to others what you do not have.
  • No matter how much love and care you receive from others you complain and accuse others for not caring or for wanting to hurt you. You feel insecure and you dread being hurt again.
  • You always try to attract attention to yourself and your needs and do not care about how others might feel. You are the centre of your own world.
  • You always suspect people are out to harm you, you hardly give people the benefit of the doubt and you are always trying to defend yourself even when no one really wants to hurt you.
  • You hate making mistakes and when they do happen you do all in your power to cover them up. You are afraid to lose some more self-esteem.
  • You can go extra lengths just to gain approval and appreciation even if you have to pay a very high cost for it.
  • You find it difficult to celebrate with achievers. You’d rather mourn with losers than celebrate with winners.

If you currently find yourself in this condition, you are in need of emotional healing. You can’t go on like that. That is not how life was meant to be for you.

  1. I have had a very hard life Gretiana but my memories no longer cause me pain, Jesus healed them after I forgave those who hurt me. I can even write about the horrific things that happened to me without any heartache just thankfulness that Jesus helped me endure.

I don’t imagine anyone is out to hurt me like you said you do, although some have done this even recently but I have evidence they have, it’s not in my imagination and they do so because they reject God’s Truth in the Scriptures or because of their own Carnal flesh but I do what God tells me to do which is not hide my hurt but resolve it, in other words forgive those who have hurt me and if needed share with friends too as He tells us to do in the Body of Christ, it’s not evil gossiping if it’s True and we need to pray and support each other and yes at times even cry together (see below) our emotions are God given we don’t suppress them, that’s what makes us emotionally sick, Jesus cried and got angry more than once and He was known as a man of sorrows and antiquated with grief.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one anther’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

To save more detail here Gretiana I will leave a link for you that explains how to deal with the pain of abuse, I hope it helps you.

  2. You are very correct. I used to suffer these and didn’t even know what was wrong with me. When I understood my pain the healing process began.

  4. This is a great post Gretiana! Many people are in deep, emotional pain and don’t recognize it, even though the signs are there.Your post shows what it looks like to be in pain. We can’t heal unless we can first recognize that we’re hurting. Thank you for sharing this post. I am going to reblog it on my healing blog,
